At the risk of being "locked"

Why are all these forums being locked? Is someone complaining? Just curious.

I understand your concerns about topics being locked or deleted and the fact that it might upset you. There are a lot of reasons which can motivate the decisions of the moderators to lock or delete posts or entire topics.

For example, someone posted photos of herself (supposedly) which turned out to be photos of an other person, and this person contacted us regarding this issue and expressed the fact she didn't want her photos to be exposed like that on the Internet, then we believe it was appropriate to immediately delete the affected topics.

Or for example when the same person is posting under different user names in the same topic(s) just to argue and fight with other members, then this is again against our policy, and can lead to deletion of posts and topics.

The same applies to those who register after being removed, so that they may continue to fight. This is obviously considered trolling, which is not tolerated.

And more generally, when posts become degenerating, when people are insulted and criticized in a non-construcitve way, then there is no reason to allow things to become worse.

So please understand our position that when we accepted to host this Pro Ana forum, this was with the goal to be helpful and propose a friendly place for people to talk together. When these criterias are no longer met, then it is our responsibility to do some "cleaning".

Of course, it is possible other Pro Ana forums on the Internet have different guidlines and we perfectly respect them, but this how we have decided to manage this forum, and in reading the PMs we receive every day, I can see the great majority of members support our decisions.
