Subject description: Add the "natural" pet food groups to the list now

Thank God, I feed my cat an all-raw, prey-model diet, as befitting an animal that is classified as a carnivore. Last year I decided to start using my education and stop feeding the capitalist commercial pet food machine, which over the years, has offered foods that are steadily being poisoned by pesticides, rotten and diseased carcasses and molds and fungus.

The latest horror from the Menu Foods company is not new. What is tragic and that companies like this, that also package pet foods like Science Diet and Iams, are knowingly importing grain products and grain waste from countries that use devestating pesticides on their crops.

Well, now add snooty little Natural Balance to the list. While brands like this were braying that their "good" pet foods were not poisoned and killing animals like Hills Science, they now have been caught with their pants down.

Instead of poisoned wheat gluten, they have been stuffing their foods with poisoned rice gluten.

There are now dozens of foods, dry, canned and in pouches, that have permenantly damaged and killed thousands of animals. The "small numbers" reported in the news are lies. Those are only the few animals who have been reported by vets who have performed the proper tests to determine organ failure.

Most vets do not bother. WE are talking about a field that pimps and panders to the commercial pet food industry, while babbling about how pet food companies spend "billions" of dollars developing new and better forumlas.

Bullshit, of course. They spend billions in advertisement.

Take into consideration a couple of things.

1) Vets are not taught total nutrition in school. Nutrition is not the same as animal biology, it is a seperate area of training. MOST vets recieve only an average of 10 hours in nutrition! That is all. This training is usually done by PET FOOD REPS! The few that are taught nutrition by another vet are usually given the same batch of lies because their instructors have learned from . . . you got it . . . pet food company reps.

2) Dogs and cats are not, repeat, NOT omnivores. This ridiculous claim made by vets is not only taught to them in school by these same reps, it is the type of outrageous lie that none of us should listen to. After all, we did go to at least grade school, where we all were introduced to the Scientific Classification System.

(Thats the neat sytem that classifieds plants and animals, like Family, Order, Genus, ect. )

It cannot be superceeded by Purina, Hills Science Diet, Natural Balance, or your Mom. It is set it stone. Domestic cats and dogs are carnivores and derive all their nurtrition from raw meat, raw bone, and organ.

While there are some carnivores in the animal kingdom that do not eat an exclusively meat-based diet, dogs and cats DO. So don't let someone pull you into a hair-splitting argument.

The preppy and popular B.A.R.F. "raw" diet is not a true raw diet. There is no place for cute fruits and cute veggies in a cat or dogs diet.

They cannot digest carbohydrates. All they can do is suck out the sugars. A diet including carbs(grains, fruits and veggies) will eventually lead to obesity, diabetes and rotting teeth in a dog or cat.

It is common practice among vets to *kindly* prescribe a "diet" commercial food for an pet which is obese. This is a dispicable practice. These "diet" foods are high in carbs, low in meats. They will promotes diseases that are not natural for felines and canines.

It is also common practice for a vet to tell the owner to starve the animal until it reaches a "normal" weight. How sick and cruel! A cat or dog fed on an appropriate diet of all-raw, prey-model diet will never become obese. It is physically impossible. They have evolved to this diet. They cannot become obese.

Likewise, diabetes is never seen in a healthy raw-fed dog or cat. Diabetes in carnivores is attributed almost exclusivly to diet, as are health problems like renal disease and stones.

People sometimes feed their pets vegetarian diets. This is sick. It's animal abuse, as neglectful feeding of a pet is considered abuse. IT HURTS THEM.

A dog or cat's body does not have the option of feeding on either meats or non-meat diets. WE can because we're omnivores. A carnivore cannot thrive. Suppliments are not good enough!

Dogs and cats will not die of common food poisonings that humans are prone to. They will not even become sick. Their bodies produce a typical carnivores steady supply of high volumes of stomach acid. They eat up germs like we eat chocolates. Don't be fooled by so-called "reseach". Ask questions of these bullshit "reports" and "studies". Use the training you got in high school and look to see if ANY of these studies have erred in any way. The "mistakes" are very easy to find.

Read these sites if you really love your dog and cat.(this goes for my fellow vegetarians and vegans)----

Don't be scared to educate yourselves for your pet's sake. Until only a few decades ago, pet dogs and cats were fed raw.

Kibble is a fad that became popular.

It costs me no more to feed my pet raw than it did to shovel in expensive "premium" commercial foods down her throat. I was told, as with my other pets, that multiple vomiting sessions were "normal" with cats and dogs. Lie, lie, lie. My pet doesn't vomit anymore. She doesn't sit and crouch in pain and drool after eating anymore. She is not obese anymore. She doesn't stink with foul breath and bloat with gas from undigested cutsie fruits, veggies and grains.

She's smooth, slim and silky; her breath is fresh. She's playful and affectionate.

Many, many show animals are fed all-raw. Many show animal owners sneak in raw meats and raw additives to their commerical fed pets. Don't be scared. Please read at least some of the articles and remember dogs and cats are NOT omnivores. They are not our children, to be manipulated into reflecting our own egos by feeding them like we feed ourselves.
