Hi, hon
Yeah, I had that happen a few times when I had my nose pierced.
Anywho, the little "bubble"---good way to put it, by the way---is most likely an oil gland that is inflamed--every pore in your skin has a teeny oil gland and when they're irritated they can get imflamed, a bit of an infection.
Your nose is part of that "T-space" on your face that is naturally very oily, so the pores are more apt to being clogged. The last time I had my nose pierced, I had the "little bubble" sydrome and I was so upset.
Can I ask you---->
1) how long you've had this piercing?
2) was this piercing done with with a gun or with a large "hollow" needle---like a professional usually uses
3) what kind of stud are you wearing? Ring or post?
Is it the same jewelry that was used when you had the piercing done?
HOw long did you leave in the original "piercing" jewelry before you changed to another type(if you did)?
What size the jewelry? (what gauge of the piece that is through your skin---that's the thickness)
Is it surgical steel? Gold? Titantium?
3) Do you take it out to clean it? Or do you leave it in as you clean it?
4) What do you use to clean it?
I think probably one of the oil glands is a bit infected---that happens easily with a nose piercing. If you're not wearing the original piercing jewelry, I would get that original piericing jewelry, clean it well and put it back it until everything is healed. Keep the skin around the post clean and dry, wash the area with soap and water when you wash your face and move the post gently as you do so. You'll be cleaning both the metal and your skin.
I would use a recommened cleaner of some kind for new piercings also, after cleaning the area with soap and water and rinsing twice a day----a cleaner like Povidone Iodine or something.(my personal favorite for piercings. I would suggest you leave the jewelry in as you do the cleaning. Taking it in and out and in and out causes more bacteria to be "shoved" back into the hole and it's also irritating to the skin.
You can use a cotton swap for the Povidone, clean the metal and turn it and clean the skin all around it on both sides. I know it stains a bit, so I guess you can use the povodine at night and another cleaner in the A.M. if you really must, but I dont' know what other cleaner to recommend. I would NOT use alcohol! It kills a lot of skin cells and then these tiny dead cells just lay there and collect bacteria, adding "more fuel to the fire", in other words. Don't use alcohol. You can get the Povidone in a generic form and just get a little bottle for only a few bucks.
If you had this done in a good professional shop, you should call them and ask them how to handle this, really. (unless they used a gun, in which case I can only say shame on them---this is not acceptable anymore and has not been for years. I used to pierce.
So do this cleaning and let's see if we can get that pore's inflammation down and unclogged. We don't want the infection to get worse. But if it does get worse, you take that ring/stud right out of your nose and let it heal. Any kind of facial piercing is very delicate and can be incredibly dangerous if it's infected.
Basically you're going to clean it as if it were a brand-new piercing. Let me know about the rest of the info when you can. Remember don't poke at the jewelry or turn it or pinch at the inflammation. Only move the jewelry when you are washing the area.(twice a day with soap and water, rinse well, and apply a cleaner like the Povidone Iodine)

Don’t wear a ring until it has healed - stick with a stud. |
I had a "bubble" inflamtion near my post, too like the others and I kept it dry and cleaned so I don't know what I did wrong. but now that I think about it, I had a backing on it, so maybe it cause it to be too tight. Tell me Rose, how did you keep the stud from falling out if you had no backing? Mine always fell out. I did it myself in the early '80s and there wasn't anyone around profesionaly to piece noses i n my town. If I have it done again, would the pro-piercer have the kind of no-back stud you're speaking of?

During the day I had no problem but at night I covered it with micropore tape to stop it from falling out. You have to be careful when you take the tape off so the stud doesn't come off too.

I'll be completely honest with you, and I don't mean to hurt your feelings, but I read your other posts about your piercing and it needs to come out, and come out NOW.
Your nose is not properly pierced. It should never, ever be done by a gun. I guess you found that out already the hard way, I feel sorry for you---I hope the guy's dick falls off for hurting and infecting you. If it was a friend, well, same thing.
Your piercing will never heal properly. And it should NEVER come out in under 3 months, never. Most piercers will tell you to leave the piercing ring/stud in for longer than that before you switch to other jewerly; I would recommend 6 months minimum.
Take the piercing out now and clean inside and out of your nostril with soapy water. Yes, you're going to get a little up your nose, don't worry. You can wash your hands well and use your pinkie or use a clean wet paper towel to wipe. Try using a deodorant type of soap, like Dial. Then rinse the same way. NO hydrogen peroxide. NO alcohol. Get some povidine iodine solution from the drugs tore, if you don't see it, ask for it. Use a clean fresh cotton swap and swap the area gently and fast after washing and leave this opening alone for at least a few months before you even think about having it repierced.
Trust me. It'll be worth it to have it done right. (oh boy trust me on this)
