Nintendo dismisses rumour that new Zelda will use Nintendo Revolution controller

Magazine's claims said to be nothing more than 'pure speculation'

Nintendo has dismissed claims that long awaited GameCube title The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will be playable on the Revolution using the new "freestyle" controller.

NGC magazine was responsible for starting the rumours with an article which read: "Twilight Princess will be playable on the forthcoming Revolution using the upcoming console's unique controller."

"When you insert the disc into your Revolution, you'll be given the option to use the Revolution's controller, with all the advantages this will bring."

But Nintendo has now told our sister site, Eurogamer, that this is not the case.

"The article in the January edition of NGC Magazine is pure speculation," the company said.

"Nintendo have made no new announcements regarding The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. We can however confirm that the game is still in development and that it will launch on Nintendo GameCube in 2006."

This is a respond to an article published in the Official Nintendo magazine in UK saying that Twilight Princess will be running on both GameCube and Revolution, with enhanced possibilites due to the Revolution controller. This magazine was also saying it may delays the release of TP...

2006 is not very precise, it can be In May/June like expected , ... but it can also be for the Holidays...

It's starting to make me think of the "real" Mario Bros game for the GameCube which we no longer have real news about , ...
