I took a big step yesterday in the road to recovery, which we all know sucks and is long and hard, so the little ones count.
I went out to eat with my boyfriend and I had an AMAZING time. Not because the food was great, because it wasnt, but my focus was on my boyfriend and not obsessing over the food. I ordered whole wheat pasta w/pesto (gasp!) and was able to eat about 2/3s of it and then left the rest. I HAVE NEVER NOT CLEANED MY ENTIRE PLATE at a restaurant... I always loose control, feel like shit, and end up binging. But yesterday I was able to look at it as just food, and I didnt really like it, so I didnt have to eat it. When I came home I proceded with my usual day, and I weighed in today at the same weight.
ITS POSSIBLE Very Happy So now eating out gets a little less scary... and I'm really thankful for that.
Just wanted to share some positivity... this end of the site is so lonely!!!

YAY YOU! That's fantastic sweetie! I totally hear you about never not cleaning your plate at a restaurant...

My mom used to make us sit at the table until our entire plates were eaten (and she'd dish out the food to begin with), even if that meant sittng at the table overnight, or eating something that didn't make it all the way down in the first place...yuck, I know.

So for a number of reasons not cleaning your plate can be waaayyyy stressful.

I'm so glad you were able to focus on your boy instead of the food. My BF is great that way...he always sees when I'm struggling but still shovelling it in, and he tells me that I don't need to eat it all, that I can leave it/save it for later, whatever.

I'm so happy that you're doing well. Take care, and I'll see you 'round.

Much love and hugs to you! Very Happy

Luv,

Congrats on not falling victim to the "clean plate club" and for assessing what your body needed when it needed it. Smile

When the "all or nothing" approach to food disappears, you can find yourself enjoying a cookie (or two) or a slice of pizza--without it being the end of the world--AND without your weight fluctuating.

I'm proud of you, honey. Smile

Love, Bit
