Posted: Sat Jan 14, 2006 11:25 am Post subject: Perl, PHP or ASP/.net ? Subject description: What to choose for a web site?

I would like to make some dynamic pages, something rather simple. Which language should I start learning to do so ? I know a bit of C/C++ . From what I understood PHP is the most popular and easiest to learn.

It also depends of your host, if you are hosted on a Linux/Unix server, you won't be able to use ASP/.net. However, Perl and PHP are available on all plateform. That's interesting to go with one of these two languages because you are sure to be able to use them if you swtich host. And personnaly I would recommand PHP. It's easier to learn than Perl (in my opinion), and you can quiclky start doing nice things
