I'm always on the British Vogue website, looking through the catwalk photos. But it doesn't really influence what I buy. When I walk in to a shop, I buy whatever catches my eye. I don't think 'oh, there were lots of cropped jackets on the catwalks' and go looking for cropped jackets, I just buy whatever I like. But I still love looking at catwalk outfits, even if I don't intend on using them as a basis for what I wear

But for a long while now, it seems that they are stuck on the same look. A pair of jeans, with high heel shoes, a cami and a jacket over it.
I liked the look, but I am ready for something different and they don't seem to be coming up with anything.
Also magazines like Vogue and Glamour don't seem to have a lot of articles about clothing. They are full of ads. Which you can get ideas from, but a lot of them are like an ad of a purse and nothing else. Or an ad of a designer outfit that costs way to much and looks a little freaky outside of the runway. Most of the things they show, I can't even find in stores. I am not even sure if those clothes are available anywhere else but NY city.
I read somewhere that people don't really buy runway fashions as they are. They'll buy a piece of the outfit and combine it with something else. That is more of a way to show the designer's creativity rather than something one can realistically wear.
So where do you guys get your clothes inspirations? Do you just go to the store, see what's available and buy what looks good regardless of fashion?
Any mags or websites you might recommend? |
Is it available online? I really need to find some good sources of seasonal fasions online. I love mags but they're so expensive and full of ads.
Yeah, the clothes you see in high-fashon shows are not really meant to be sold. Sure, some people buy them, but they're their to signify what a trend will be in style only. So others fashions their clothes form them and you find those in stores.
