(first journal, so excuse the crappy style)

As I say in my title, I'm a bit of a sports freak. Thats what lead me to where I am now, and this forum. I adore sport, most particularly netball , but also football (ie soccer) dancing and hockey.

But when you weigh 11 1/2 stone (161 lbs) there is only so far you can go. And that's the basics of how I ended up here.

Statistics (Jan 2007)
Weight - 154lbs
Waist - 32 inches
Hips - 40 inches
Thigh - 23 inches
Body fat - 22%

Statistics (May 2007)
Weight - 141lbs
Waist - 25.5 inches
Hips - 36 inches
Thigh - 19 inches
Body Fat - 17%

Ideal Statistics (Sept 2007)
Weight - 125
Waist - 23 inches
Hips - 32 inches
Thigh - 16 inches
Body Fat - 12%

I decided to post a journal as yesterday I took part in an all day netball tournament, and felt I my weight was still preventing me from running fast, catching well and being agile. I know I'll never be the best (at 5'7 Im too short Wink ) but I want to come so damn close it scares me.

My calorie intake may seem high at between 800-1000 calories a day, but I do try to burn through exercise double what I eat, so at the tournament yesterday, I ate 1400 calories (oh god, that is nasty) but I burnt almost 2000 at the tournament and went for an hour run afterwards, burning around 800 calories.

Any comments/advice/help is really welcome!

Thanks for listening to my rant, will post a proper message in a few hours!

So far, I've done pretty badly...Had a bit of a chocolate binge at 11am, and so havent eaten a thing since.

So far, ive eaten the following
30g coco pops
50ml skim milk

1 breakaway
1 bournville chocolate bar

Thats around 500 calories... Im doing 2 hours of sport tonight, and according to calories-per-hour.com, I'll burn 973 calories doing that, so if I also go for a 20 minute run, I'll have burnt 1219 calories, so I can eat 609 calories today. (If I want any more, I'll have to do some more exercise!)

Well tonights's exercise plan's down the drain - this damn brittish weather has seen netball called off Sad

So instead, I'm tryin to do an indoor workout - have done 30 minutes of cardio box, and am going to do an hour of circuit, plus 30 minutes of dancing/rowing/skipping, and then some light weight training. That should burn 1151-1329 calories, so if I do the skipping (ie jumprope) I could have 50 more calories for food! Woopwoop! Very Happy

Thankyou ladybird, but at the moment, I cant see any change - the tape measure has results but I cant see them!

Yesterday's exercise went to plan, but jst before I went to bed, I caved in and had an options hot chocolate and a small slice of quiche Sad So I ate 800 calories and only burnt 1200, but as long as today goes better, yesterday is in the past.

Okay...so far I've been good...

Have eaten 150 calories and burnt 200 calories, but I'm about to do a food shop...

I'm going to write down my shopping list here, because then if I cheat, Y'all will know about it!

spinach
celery
low fat hoummus
low fat salad dressing
yellow pepper
stir fry
stir fry sauce
pommegranate
dried fruit and nut mix
low fat yogurt

and, if I buy no chocolate/food containing more than 150 calories per serving, I get my all time favourite purchase.... as many magazines as I can physically carry! I need my weekly dose of gossip, and nothing, not even chocolate, shall stand in my way...

Crying or Very sad Just went into the kitchen and my brain seemed to go on autopilot, straight to the chocolate cupboard

That takes the calories for today up to 800, and the exercise counter's still at 600 Crying or Very sad

I'm gonna do an hour's skipping, but I still feel guilty as hell...

Thanks Chani!

This morning was depressing though... My weight's been stuck at 142 for 2 weeks, but today it finally changed...To 143! How does that work? I havent eaten more than 1000 calories on any of those days, but I still put on weight!

I cannot wait untill I can afford a gym membership! I've been saving up, and I'm gonna buy one at the end of my exams, in a month.

Also, I know this is random, but I decided I wanted something to aim for with my fitness. I'm rubbish at running, so I have decided one of my new aims is to run a maraton the second I turn 18. I know, I'm weird, but in order to run maratons wikipedia says people run a minimum of 40 miles per week to train, so if I can work up to that in the next two years, its all good. And, it means I can raise a bit of money for charity Very Happy

SO today, I will run 3 miles in order to train - I know its not much, but I've got to start somewhere!

Hugs,

the weight you gained might be waterweight or it might be muscle you build up cuz muscle weighs more than fat.
good for you you've giving yourself this marathon goal to work towards!!!
i think that's really gonna help you.

Have done the run and survived Party

Unfortuantely I have no pacing skill and so had to have a break after every mile after running too fast, but its all good!

The diet today's been good - 350 calories so far, but I know that if I do binge, it always happens around 7pm. Its why I dont normally binge on Mondays or Thursdays - im doin sport from 7 till 10, so I dont have a chance.

Woopwoop! 141lbs!

I know its not much, but I've beens stuck at 142lbs for 2 weeks. Yesterday, I weighed myself in the morning, which is unusual for me, and I'd gone up to 143, and I was reli upset, but when I weighed myself in the afternoon, at four as usual, it had gone down to 141!

Its not much, but I can hopefully use it as a kickstart.

Last night, though, I was really really sick with IBS, and so I'm only doing 2 hours of netball tonight, and nothing else.

I'm typin this with a bucket sat on my lap.

Am still feelin really ill, and now really regret going to netball last nite. Went to the doctors this morning, and she said I was overexhausted - didnt need to go to a doctor to know that! She said I should rest for 3 days, so I'm not doin exercise today, but I'll be damned if I go a weekend without!

God, I hate throwing up...But I suppose its getting all the food out of my system, aiding towards weight loss... I have no idea how people with mia put themselves through this by choice, I have a new level of respect for them...

I hate not being to exercise.

I want to take my dog for a loong walk, but I dont want to risk throwing up in public, and my mum's downstairs so I cant skip or trampoline or do a workout dvd Crying or Very sad

I'm only going to eat 500 calories today though, so hopefully I wont gain. So far I've had 200, so 300 for dinner, which is actually the average size of my dinner normally Thinking I'll only eat 200, so I've got room for a slip up, and then if I don't slip up, I've only eaten 400 calories - its a win win situation!

I will not binge, I owe myself that much
