Dedicated Server vs Virtual Host vs Shared Hosting ?
Subject description: Which to choose?
I am starting to make nice things (I think ) and would like to go futher, ... I am not expecting to make a living with my site, but if it can earn me some $ it could be great, ... So I am actually on a Free hosting and would like to try something "better", ... I was about to naturally go with the Shared Hosting, but now prices for Virtual and Dedicated servers are very interesting, so I am a bit tempted
It depends what you want to do exactly and your knowledges. The natural evolution is of-course
1. Shared hosting
2. Virtual Host
3. Dedicated Server
If I was you, I'll go with the Shared Hosting for the moment.
Be carefull about prices! You can see virtual host and dedicated servers are very attractive prices, HOWEVER, this is certainly self-managed services which means you have to do everything yourself. The hosting company only install the operating system, and you have to install everything else yoursefl which requires solid and advanced knowledges.
You can go with managed dedicated hosting, in that case the hosting company installs and configures everything for you, but the price is no longer the same.
So don't try to jump too fast. Go with the Virtual Host, concentrate on your site, and continue learning everyday,...
